Ah my beauty past compare... my jowls bright (jowls?)

Have you noticed Fidel Castro lately in the press exclaiming to everyone who would listen... " I AM ALIIIVE!" Next thing you know Ariel Sharon will follow suit.
I would like to take this time to go over our vast library of names here. I like nicknames and want to go over them with you so we can keep track of them. HappyMood, better known as President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of Iran. 'Dubya' bears mentioning but we didn't make that one up. On April 28th our post included the 'Poodle', a.k.a President Pervez Musharraf of Pakistan loudly declaring that he was a poodle to nobody. I wish you got a chuckle out of that like I did. We had 'hoof hearted,' and 'Donkerslee' was born as well. Hugo Chavez?

Today we look at a scientist. Auguste Piccard. An amazing man really, and also had a twin brother. It is suggested on wikipedia that he was, along with his brother, an inspiration for the Star Trek character, Jean-Luc Picard. Auguste, invented in 1930, a gondola which when constructed allowed him to attain heights of nearly 16kms without a pressure suit. In order to give you an idea, that is not quite double the height of the flight of our 747s today. Piccard, after realizing he could apply the same concepts to under sea exploration, altered the design and took this gondola down to a depth of over 4 kms. He donated this to the French Navy in 1950. In 1954 in a newly designed " Bathyscaphe Trieste " he did many dives off of the coast of Italy. The US government bought it off of him for $250 grand and on its 65th dive attained the depth of over 11.5 kms. No other vessel has ever attained this depth since.

Why have we focused on this amazing individual?

I will give you hint. Bianca Castafiore and her pianist Igor Wagner. (no pictures of them today)
She is also known as.... The Milanese Nightingale! Do you love her or what?
Bench you have massive jowls.

the big soft wasn't soft.

Vets in a zoo in Brussels have chopped the penis off of an iguana because of an erection. Methods such as introducing fertile females, and after that cold water failed. It seems the poor gentleman had difficulty walking and attracted grave discomfort because of his permanent erection.

Vista. What? Yeah Microsoft's Vista. The new one. I still use Windows 98, and except for not being able to play Halo, or any games worth playing, (Civ3 excluded) it can just about do anything I need it to. Opponents to the big SOFT (microsoft) namely the UK Greens, claim that it "requires more expensive and energy-hungry hardware," which will force people to buy a better computer. One alternative to using the big SOFT operating system is LINUX.

We go from amputated penis's to the bigSOFT but now take a breath.

A hospital in Russia has gagged orphaned babies because of excessive crying by the infants. A mother who was at the hospital took pictures on her mobile phone. What chance do these babies have in life, when at birth, people with a responsibility to care... don't. (link below)
