Warholized. Can you catch the IMPOSTER?

The first question is this. Can you ward off sickness with Warhol? You are being immunized.

The second question is THIS....Would you leave $100,000 dollars in the back seat of your car while you quickly went into the corner store to get a carton of milk and loaf of bread? Seriously. You now have 100 grrr, in bills in your back seat. Would you leave it unattended?

A lady in Pretoria, South Africa, left her baby in the back seat of her idling sedan, as she hopped out and unlocked a gate. An enterprising young man, entertained the notion of acquiring a new car for himself, and acted upon it. Inside a baby, previously undetected was discovered. Police called the thief on the mobile phone, which was also in the car and spoke to the entrepreneur. The baby was dropped off, at a prearranged location to the great relief of the mother; Olga Botha. The car is still missing. While we are here, I will mention a few facts about Pretoria. Nicknamed “Jacaranda City” because of the many, you guessed it, Jacaranda trees. Quite a cool tree too. Pretoria, has the largest number of embassies in the world after Washington DC. And lastly, Church st. is the longest urban street in South Africa, and one of the longest straight streets in the world.

People, the illustrious jacaranda, and church st.

Now I am paraphrasing somewhat, please forgive me it the facts are not presented fluently. A reporter, from the BBC viewed the scene in Israel, of one of the latest bloody suicide bomber attacks. Seeing children, carried away, clinging to life, while others lay dead moved him to seek out additional answers. After checking with contacts, he managed to locate the mother of the bomber. He arrived and interviewed her. According to the woman, she previously had no idea that her son was involved with these kind of individuals. She recalled that her son wanted to be roused early in the day. When she awoke, early, she found him already dressed and about to leave. That was the last time she ever saw him alive. Praising him and loyally supporting his stance she was questioned about the innocents killed deserved to die. Exclaiming that if the rest of the world could see how the Palestinians were oppressed, killed, and taken advantage of they would understand why it was done. She had no remorse or feelings for those killed, but called for awareness and understanding about the plights of the Palestinian people.

I feel a country is defined by its people. Ordinary people. The thoughts of the people on the street are what really, drives the nation. A friend shared the following anecdote with me recently.

He arrived in Egypt (lets call him Mao) and was taken via taxi to his destination. The 24 year old driver was engaged in conversation. He hated the Israelis, and wasn’t all to pleased with the Palestinians either. He postured further, adding that “We showed the Israeli’s in 1973!” This taxi driver wasn’t even alive in 1973, and told my friend that his father fought them and his grandfather previously. So, handed down to this young man, was the assertion that Egypt slaughtered the Israelis in 1973. Not entirely true. However, the common people in Egypt, who have these thoughts passed down from trusted sources, take this as the truth. http://www.onwar.com/aced/data/yankee/yomkippur1973.htm

The three instances above, show interaction between, parent and child. How valuable are our children? Is it important they have guidance from their parents? Is the quality of education important, to help a young person develop? What would Thomson and Thompson think?

Of course I wouldn't leave that amount of money in my car to run into the store.

Why a woman felt it alright to leave her child in the car is unknown to me. I guess that thought that it always happens to others and never to me seems to be in place here, a state of oblivian if you will?!?

No I don't think Warhol can ward off illness, but education can. Yes it is our job as parents to take responsibility of our children. To look at their very little inpressionable lives and realize that we hold the key to their future.

They say that children learn their building blocks for life in the first 5 years of their lives, before school and before many others have a chance to really be a part of it. Makes you wonder what is happening to society when you sit back and realize that many many parents of children both have to leave the home to support their kids. hhhmmmm,, makes me wonder......eventhough I am a daycare professional I only trust family and very close friends with my children, I wonder how parents do it,is it despiration maybe?
