Afghanistan calls... the pope proclaims....

Hello. Hullo. Halo.
Well.
Yes it has been 31 days. R U Still Tagging along? Yes? I think I may be a bit rusty.

So what has been up? I googled "Chankslee" today to see if anything would come up. I am still thinking about deleting THAT entry.

Noticing in the Canberra Times that the pope seems to be in a bit of poop. Islamic groups are enraged because of his comments.

Stevie the Crikey hunter got stung. Really tragic. He was a great man.

The NFL kicked off. I can't help but hope Dallas can win a few. Here we have the footy finals on. Tonite the Dragons will beat the Sea Eagles. The Swans had a massive win and get to sit out this week.

Now let me introduce to you......

HALO!

You, the Master Chief, a cross between RoboCop, Predator, and Terminator are awakened because all of your collegues (warriors like you) have been destroyed and you are in the midst of an alien invasion. As you awake they begin to slaughter everyone on the ship. It is a bit scary. After running to the commander, Captain Keyes, you are told to take the important files, or...Cortana, who needs to be preserved. She assists you in your jouney.... First step is to get off of the ship and then rescue as many as possible. What next? Fight back. The thing I liked most was playing against people from Romania, Spain, Germany, Canada, the US, Aussies and others. She's good mate. Cheker out.

Noticed a call for more troops to Afghanistan. I was a bit surprised there are only about 18 thousand troops there. How do you feel about the US invading this place and then getting everyone else to mop up? Is that what is happening?

Hey Chanks! Good to see you back. Your post made me think of my dad. He used to call the pope, the poop! And, I asked him once, how many men were in a troop and he said he thought about 32 but wasn't sure. That would mean there are 576,000 men over there. I heard there were over a million.

I will have to check out Halo but in the mean time.....The SWANS??? What kind of name is that for a bunch of men? The SWANS??? Oh my, doesn't that sound........well, anyway.

And yes it was sad about Steve. I thought of you and your little man's birthday party. So sad, but he did live his life on the edge.

The SWANS??? Yes the name makes me think they would have to sit out a game or two.

Well, have to get ready for that dreaded work.

Welcome back!!!!

Halo,,,, Hello .... is that an Auzzie translation????

Really now..... (As Chanks would say)

I looked for Halo in our local Staples store. They didn't have it. So, I looked in one of the computer magazines and it wasn't listed as one of the top 100 games. Wasn't even mentioned anywhere for that matter.

Never mind...... it is probably one of those awesome games that people get addicted to like Pajama Sam or Tonka or a really great game like Red Alert..... now there is an addicting game.

One dayyy....... maybe when we see See see errs,,,, we will get a chance to try t out.

Love ya, chanks,

Nice to have you back on line.

Doast.

I found you too *sigh* by now we all know that our canadian government is sending or has sent more troops over to Afghanistan, We also know that Bush's term as president of the US is coming to an end.

One really has to wonder how the WoT will swing the votes....also one has to wonder how the new president will deal with everything......

Personally as neighbours to the US I think it's important in all cases for us to have their back so to speak, we already know they would have ours ;)

Yep you sound like an addict!
What a surprise, a new entry, you would take a time out of your high for us?
I just wonder about the whole pope thing. I haven't paid any attention to what he said but can't help but notice that there is a group of people that are upset....or so I'm told. Is there an arab speaking media that pays attention to how we feel and splash headlines all over about how we are offended about something someone might have said about christianinty? Do they care what we think? How come we don't have big demonstrations? Why do we care what they think? Why is the pope back pedalling so fast? What is he afraid of? It feels like Isalm is becomeing a bit of a bully. Making lots of noise and throwing it's weight around. Everytime you back down the bully gets stronger. What would happen if the pope stood behind what he said, stated that he ment no offence but at the same time didn't regret anything. What would happen? Just fanning the fire!
Good to have you back chanks!

Well Bench, I really have no interest in the pope but did google him after your post. Now this is what I think.

I work at an assisted living for seniors complex that houses about 100+ seniors. For the most part they are wonderful people but the majority of them are winding down. Not quite playing with a full deck. Some, the deck is just damage and others might have only 1 or 2 cards missing. But...... I find the staff is forever helping them. Helping them think, giving advice, good or bad, which the seniors except. I'm not sure if I am making any sense but it seems to me the officials elect a man that they can easily lead. From what I can tell that speech seemed to be Americanized. I wonder who had control of that. Keep fanning Bench, I'll throw on a little more fuel.

Well I'm sure everybody already knows exactly what I'm going to write so you don't need to read on, but I feel compelled to illustrate my thoughts anyways. Let me start by saying how happy I am to see everybody here. Bench, Doast, Targo, AV, I've missed you all. And now my thoughts on this stuff:
The pope is doing exactly the right thing. He is turning the Catholic religion into an easily recognizable joke instead of the partially hidden joke it's been since its inception. The more he makes a mockery out of himself, the less people will join his ridiculous crowd of idiots. The Catholic religion is kind of like the government in that people who follow it are often quite sensible, decent people, but the farther up the "chain of command" you get, the more corruption, false information, manipulation, greed, and a host of other nasty things there are present. The real misfortune here is that he's stupid enough to have fanned flames that caused violence, which is a serious downfall in a position of "leadership". Don't get me wrong, I see lots of stupidity in the Islamic religion too. I'm just simply pointing out that the Catholic religion is really no better.
If you are blessed enough to feel the presence of other realms in your soul, then spend time with your family and friends discussing it and enjoying it or go to a natural cathedral of trees and a flowing river in the forest instead of going to some moldy old church run by people who think they know better than you do, ESPECIALLY when they run hierarchical schemes riddled with corruption like Islam or Catholicism.
