Honestly, are you an elitist?

Unfolding before your very eyes is a future unit of study for the next generation. Yes, you are here, and can say to the young whipper snappers (nice phrase eh) " I was there and it didn't really unfold like you are being taught." How does the Stones song go... "you can't always get whatcha want, but if you try sometimes..." you can add in your own view and alter the facts like a drunken pollie up on capitol hill.

In the one corner we have Kim Jong II and in the other we have Condoleezza, Japan, followed by China and South Korea. Yes there are other players too, like Russia, the UK, and France. I found it very interesting to note, and yes while I plead an unrefined ignorance, Japan has no nuclear weapons. They are feeling rather threatened as is South Korea. I heard a quote today on ABC radio FM at 07:50 in which Rice exclaimed that the US has the range in their vast arsenal to reach North Korea and the will to defend if necessary. Encouraged by Japan, and the UN, America, which does have the resources, is preparing to stop, detain and search every ship entering or leaving this region. China is not entirely supportive of this action. The negotiations continue. Kim Jong II exclaimed that any opposition against them by the United States would constitute a declaration of war. What then?

The balance of power has shifted. It is a new game, with new rules. To quote Abraham Lincoln, "as our situation is new, so we must think and act anew." I hope there is a lot more thinking before acting.

I asked a close friend of mine, a question the other day. It actually wasn't anything more than an attempt to stir him up but it in fact is an interesting one. I don't really know where it came from, but as I saw he was languishing on google talk, and had not responding to my entreaty for his time, before signing off myself, the following words were penned. Do you lie to yourself? I ask it to you.

Finally, I wish to direct you to this site. What do ya reckon?

What did Donatello do? He did bronze. David was done by Michelanglo, in marble. It is said this marble statue is the most famous in the world. I have not seen it; yet. I was told of its beauty. Like most good things there is always an incredibly long queue to see the sculpture of sculptures. Have you seen it? Would you wait in line for 2 hours?

EVERYDAY.

Kim Jong. He is so private. It's scary. Actually, I have myself convinced it isn't really happening. Am I lying to myself? Or maybe I'm still trying to get rid of my hiccups.

When I think of a hobo, I think of someone down and out, not knowing where he/she will get their next meal, where they will sleep or how they will keep warm. Lacking money. I guess this fellows last name is 'Hobo', for he is doing quite well for himself. "Duh, I don't get it." exclaimed AV.

I'm still worried about dirty bombs.

ABSOLUTE YES!!! I would wait in line all day to see the sculpture of all sculptures!

I see nobody answered the trivia question from the last blog.

um 2 hrs? I think not.... I have better things to do than stand for 2hrs waiting.... I don't wait well... I have too much energy to wait

oddly enough I doubt that chanks could wait for 2 hrs.... and could any of you imagine my middle child trying to stand in a line up waiting for 2 hours??? It's just not worth it... maybe a picture could say a thousand words in this case?

I think there comes a point when we all wish to view the world through rose coloured glasses,, to hope that what we really see and believe isn't as real.. that we're just fooling ourselves... I mean really if the world is all that bad then why are we here? why are we having children? why???

It must have something to do with Kool-aid. Maybe if I think that, I won't be honest with myself. Do you think I'm lying? Maybe Blue is a little dog that loves raspberries. Maybe if I'm blue I will try to be happy by eating raspberries. Honestly, I don't know the answer to your question. I say it is a matter of opinion. The color blue to me is peppermint to me.

targo in response to your point, psam advocates NOT having children because it is too populated and humans are destroying the earth. if having children makes your life fulfilling and u are raising the kids, like your middle child with a sense of respect for others and a person which potentially will change the world for the better.. is it such a bad thing for you to have a child?

WHAT THE HECK R U TALKING ABOUT THE COLOUR BLUE wanna be?

the bs had nothing to do with the color blu?

anyway I love my babies... all 3 of them are a delight... I couldn't imagine life without their little perspective ;)

ah but psam does like kids... really he does... and he likes mine, honestly I know he does ;)

Chanks, is there a theme you are going with? I was rereading and noticed you mentioned honesty, lying, and even discussed Abe Lincoln.

Some guy, I have my own digits, don't need Psams but thanks for the offer.

And honestly, I believe I am an "elitist" much to my disappointment.

Absolutely I love children. The children that are in the world should be treated preciously. It is one of the most important things a person can do towards making the world a nice place. However, I think people should be encouraged not to have children as another way of making the world a nice place, oddly enough. The population explosion of humankind is strangling this planet very quickly.
What I do not understand is why people have children. Do you not realize that within the lifetimes of children that are born today, the world will be mostly unlivable? It's already more than halfway destroyed. Why would you want to bear children into such a world? I do not understand.
And the nuclear situation? Well, as we all know, any nation that possesses nuclear weapons should be encouraged to disarm. Possession of nuclear weapons shows a decided lack of intelligence, concern for life, honour, decency, and also any qualities that any religion has ever deemed desirable.

Psam some of us are optomistic on the long term view of the world ;) If we spend our lives dwelling on the endless possibilites about the world, then quite simply we will more than likely drive ourselves mad. It's funny how one negative view has the potential to follow us into every aspect of our lives. It's hard to be around someone who is constantly 'negative' I suppose then it is true that one bad apple spoils the whole bunch ;)

Think about that for a moment... remembering it's just another point of view,, another way of looking at things. Be careful that your own view isn't imposed upon someone else but merely suggested ;)

Actually, I would really like to know......why do people have children?

targo....lost? said...

THANK YOU

Why do people have children you ask??? Why not??? teee heee heee..... seriously though it's nice to have an extention of yourself if you will, something to do with your time. For me it was an internal desire to have children.. I just always wanted them, and before I could even try for children I was pregnant with my daughter. It really is a gift and a joy... I mean why did your parents want children? why did they have you?? do you think the world would have been better off without your presence within it???

yes I am jabbin' at you....trying to hit a never or just make you think a little outside the box  But I have always loved children, and always wanted at least one.
