These mist covered mountains...

New Zealand mountaineer, Mark Inglis, a paraplegic has conquered Everest. In the world today, amputee's are displaying an amazing spirit. Life has dealt them a hard time, but they have risen to the challenge. His plight can be an inspiration for all of us, showing that with dedication we can make any of our problems easier to deal with. It all starts with a positive outlook. It continues with a spirit which defies the odds. It concludes with action in the face of overwhelming adversity. One has to admire sombody with that kind of spirit. I hope you can feel uplifted today. As a motivational speaker, and co-owner of PeakFuels, an energy bar company, he extolls the virtues of "take it to the next level." On his success he says "nobody can take away what I achieved." Inspirational. The view from the top is supposed to be amazing. He enjoyed it. Doesn't that make you feel good? Honestly. No matter how bad or hard our day has become, there are others not as well off as we are and we should make the most of what we have.

Let us put things in perspective. And yes, perspective is what I would like to discuss today. Some would say that when you have a goal, you push aside any distractions and focus on it. Inglis did this. Perspective. Reaching a goal, especially an important goal is paramount. Reaching your goal by neglecting others is another story. This Mark Inglis abandoned a dying man, David Sharp, as he stormed towards the summit. Perspective. In other media reports it was described as "summit fever." Forty climbers refused to stop and help because the dying man, was, according to Inglis, "effectively dead." Now when I read an account of this tragedy, I waited, reserving judgement, because there are those, that like to discredit people who make something of themselves. I read with sceptisism. And Inglis sounded like he deserved the benefit of the doubt. " It was a very hard decision. We couldn't do anything. He had no oxygen, no proper gloves, things like that. To get David (Sharp) down would have taken 20 sherpas, and he would have died on the way down." It was also said that Sharp was frost bitten so badly, he could only move his eyes. The 34yr old, in good physical condition was no match for the treacherous conditions at Everest. She claims lives every year. Mother Nature can be cruel. Now let us dig a little bit deeper. Inglis said that Sharp didn't have proper gloves. Really? It can cost as much as $75,000 for proper support, in the commercial plight Everest has become. Inglis, a motiviational speaker was sponsored by an Australian engineering firm to the tune of fifty thousand. His other high profile sponsors included Suzuki, Paralympics New Zealand, and others. Team Inglis was determined to succeed. Now, if I was missing two legs I would make sure I had proper support. Yeah, I would buy proper gloves too. David Sharp didn't have enough oxygen bottles either. Was he a champion of a person, pushing himself to the limits, living his goals but failing in that huge aspect of not having much money? Were his gloves a little cheaper, but his ambiton a little deeper. He passed away only 300 meters from the summit, hiding from the elements, spent, alone, cold. And not far away others celebrated, a life long goal. Perspective. The winners were only 300 meters away. And then they walked away. Now am I being too hard on Mr Inglis? How did Mark become a paraplegic? He was rescued after being trapped in a cave for 14 days because of a blizzard. His rescuers risked their lives to rescue him. Sir Edmund Hillary, ( familiar name? google it ) says, " I haven't seen any evidence so far that this chap hiding under a rock was in a hopeless conditon." He would know. Hillary added that, " I don't think it matters a damn if he was from another party, if he was Swiss or from Timbuktu or whatever. He was a human being, and we would regard it as our duty to get him back to safety." For myself, and as one of you says quite often, this is only one man's opinion, I won't be buying any PeakFuel energy bars. Am I out to lunch? He may have died anyways like it was said, and then all the efforts would have been for naught. What do you think?
http://www.stuff.co.nz/stuff/0,2106,3682716a11,00.html ---( this is a tame interview with Inglis as I didn't want to choose most of the other "biased" reports )---

We had another report here, about a man, Lincoln Hall, left for dead by his support group because he had become delirious, due to lack of oxygen. He did make it to the top and was on his way down. It was released on the Everest new web sites that his death was verified, due to cerebral oedema, or swelling of the brain. An American, Dan Mazur, found Mr Hall still clinging to life and he abandoned his climb, giving him hot tea, and some of his oxygen. To make another long story brief. He lived.

http://www.seeklyrics.com/lyrics/Dire-Straits/Brothers-In-Arms.html wish i could play the song BUT... that would be illegal, and its an old crummy one anyways. I have always wondered what that song is about.... can you help me.
(sorry about the errors in this one.... )

Ya plo? ( yae-ploe) Eek! Psam likes expensive flip flops.

Psam, you continue to astound me.
I did like the comments you made way back in february or march, asking about fire. Back in the cave man days after realizing that you could make fire by rubbing 2 sticks together some people got burnt. At that point the question was asked as to whether fire should be banned because some people got burned. I like your thoughts too. They are passionate and a reflection of what you are all about. Tara, you and I should be honoured by Puh sam z comments at the end of the last web log.

I have to say, however, that you are wrong, dead wrong on your opinions about democracy. In your fury over the issue of "crossing the floor" you have allowed it to cloud your better judgement. Your thoughts on being "de-elected" are a little skewed. You used Ralphie in your speech, so let us use him in this example. ( see psam's comments on the previous "chinese control" blog to find out what it is I am responding to.)

Do you remember the recession in the late eighties to early nineties, in Alberta. Don Getty, the previous premier of Alberta had spent his tax dollars like a "drunken sailor," and the situation Ralph Klein inherited was bleak. One will also remember in 1992 that oil prices were low and that Alberta was in decline. He told the voters that many programs had to be cut, because of fiscal irresponsibility. And cut he did. And did the people ever complain. It was bad. Quite bad. Now according to your strategy, Psam, this is the point in which he would have been "deelected." The media had a field days slamming the shortcomings of Klein, like he was an idiot. Does that mean then Psam, that you would support a media run state? If the rich owned the media then they could "spin" any issue into their candidate's favour. When I say "their candidate's favour," I mean the candidate they control..... this is only one contrary opinion I will leave the others for YOU>

Trivia. Who is the man pictured. Hint#1. he's dead. Hint#2. German. Quadrangles Horse. Wood. Revelation.... Hint#3. Caffeine isn't a drug it is a stimulant. Hint#4. One of these hints isn't a hint.

Chinese Control. Do you speak Chinese?

Yes, China will be the next SUPERPOWER. As far as human rights recognition goes and personal rights versus the rights of the state, they are sadly lacking. I have heard whispers, here and there, that a revolution within ten years will take place. Do I believe this could happen? Yes. Do I think it is likely? Not if the government is clever. I think that nearly all revolutions are borne out of hardship. Prosperity should be the name of the game in that country for the next 20 years or so. If the gap between the have's and the have nots is not a gulf, then things should be okay. But yes, like it was mentioned before, this is just one mans opinion.

G7
It is in fact G8. Group of eight. The nations include... Germany, Japan, Italy, US, UK, Canada, the Russian Federation and France. Together they make up over 65% of the World economy. The leaders names I am sure you have all heard. Including... Dubya, Harper, Merkel, Chirac, Prodi, Putin, Blair, and Koizumi. This year, 2006, the president (rotating every year) is Vladimir Putin. The original six members came together amid an oil crisis in 1975. President Ford asked if Canada could become a member in 1976 and they were now the G7. In 1991, Bill Clinton suggested that Russia become an honourary member as appreciation for economic reforms by Russian President, Boris Yeltsin. One would notice that the expansion of the group seems prevailant upon America. Well yes they do happen to be very active in forging diplomatic relations with many nations. Most of them quite good relationships I might add. Now if one was to look at their GDP or Gross Domestic Product, (total value of goods and services produced in 1 year) it would be plainly evident that these are the wealthiest nations on Earth.
http://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/rankorder/2001rank.html
Now what is the difference between the G8 and the WTO? Is there other groupings of nations, like say the G15? (Yes) Who would belong. Is there a group of oil producing nations? What does the UN have to do with this? I think we should start by observing the news which comes as a result of the G8 summing this year in July.

Now for more important things. Please go to this link. http://gb.asterix.com/ Check er out. She's good. Quite a cool site... especially if you like Asterix and Obelix.

In case it is hard to read, the t shirt says
"I beat anorexia." This is great. Good to see someone overcome the odds, see hope where none was before, and strive for greatness. He really is a great man. Never give up, pursue your dreams. If you want it bad enough you will get it.

Lastly. I have been updating your point lists on "view my complete profile." (located at the verrry bottom.) There has been some movement in the top 3 positions. I have 2 more trivia questions, and then the winner will get the prize.... hopefully to be put towards a trip to/within, this beautiful country, Australia. I will be mailing the prize in an interesting fashion. Cash will be in the envelope,,, a mixture of icing sugar and flour will be inside too... or something like that. Suggestions please.

Do not read if you have a weak stomach.

I just have to warn you about disgusting content on this web log. If you have eaten recently or have a weak stomach, or don't like seeing semi naked fat people do NOT look any further. Frankly the "item" made me laugh and I just had to post it.... sorry. Please do not let it detract in any way from my questions at the end or from commenting on the prez below.... sorry again.

Happy Mood is back!
It appears, according to BBC dot comhttp://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/4995350.stm that the build up of tension between Iran, and those opposed to their nuclear ambitions have had another turn of events. The Iranian President, Happy Mood, (Mahmoud Ahmadinejad- herin referred to as HM or the aforementioned happy mood.) leading the world to believe he has joined the big N club, really doesn't have that much to brag about. It is ver likely that the enriched uranium used in the experiments has come from.... hold your breath... China. So the question is why HM released this to the World? Is he a grandstander? Look at his massive letter to Dubya. Look at the posturing, as in " this is our red line." Propaganda. At this point, as I mentioned previously it looks like he is just an excellent diplomatic manipulator. Congatulations. Good Job. Now what comes of this? Should we be looking closer and checking if there are any internal investigations of misconduct with his secretary and he is deflecting the attention away? I would bet he is massively popular within Iran, and the sense of Nationalism is strong. We, mighty Iran are defying the world.

On another note. In Vancouver, Canada, a robbery at a bank. The thief, suspecting he would be noticed and identified because of the clothes he was wearing took drastic action. Yes folks, he removed the offending items, and flagged down a taxi. Amazingly enough the person behind the wheel of the hire car saw this naked man, holding a satchel (stuffed with dough) and made his assumption that this fella may not be the best fare to take. Lets see. YOU are the taxi driver. It has been a slow day. Not much money has come in, and the bills still need to be paid. Hoping to snag a customer you head towards a high pedestrian traffic area. Wow, there is a hand waving to you. Indicating right you head towards a....... jumping NAKED MAN! Do you.....
a. pick the man up... you meet all sorts around here and I wouldn't want to discriminate.
b. stop. get out of the car and throw him your keys.
c. drive very quickly away.
d. next stop the donut shoppe.
e. c and d
Gee, what would you do? Fully clothed police arrested the man after a chase to the nearest Skytrain station.

SUPERPOWER. Up and comers. You may know who are members of the G7 nations. The 7 wealthiest in the world. Now there are in fact eight nations. I reckon there will be changes to this group very soon. Can you name the countries? One of these powers simply does not fit. Who is it? How many of these are in Iraq?

Spelling at about 15-2-go

Talk about getting a life. I believe I have to get one too. Now check this one out. A man in Mudjimba, on the beautiful Sunshine Coast is a millionaire. No not in dollars. This fella, typed up to one million on an old pile of junk ribbon type writer. I can't even spell type writer anymore. ( can you help.. is it one word or two) So for example here we go. One. two. three. Four. Five. Six. and on and on until Nine hundred ninetynine million, nine hundred ninety nine thousand, nine hundred whatever... wow. It took him 16 years. The gentleman's name is Les Stewart. Ya gotta recognize commintment. So there it is. http://www.recordholders.org/en/records/typing.html

Our Prime Minister, John Howard, is meeting in Canada today. He just met with Dubya, and they reaffirmed their relationship, planting some trees together, and smiling a lot. Listen to the new today, and see what happens with Harper and Howard. They are supposed to talk about the energy plan you guys have that is more moderate than the Kyoto accord. We here in Aus have not signed the Kyoto deal. The logic is that without the US on the deal it will not really work. The second one is, and I agree with Kleiny in AB about this too, is that emerging countries do not have to worry about pollution and neither does China. If the Chinese don't belong, the most populous country in the world why should anyone else. Does that make sense? Am I stirring the pot? Psam... bite. ( A hello to my great friend Lindley. Thanx for the comment! Great to hear your voice...kind of)

Hugo Chavez. Is he a hero or a rogue, or both? It seems that he is becoming quite popular. His anti Bush or American stance is one that many of the developing countries admire and respect. Or do they? He has great reseves of oil that he will not sell to what he calls the Imperialist enemy. He has dared America to invade, and exclaims that if they do, "a 100 year war will be unleashed in South America." Pretty strong rhetoric. We will have to do some exploring soon.

Have fun.... play safe... be good. Santa is watching too.

Please ignore this sign.

(Try to pick out the White House on Google Earth. I couldn't but have it here, for your viewing pleasure.)

If I was a young kid, and made a comment that was quite rude and insulting, but I did it innocently would you forgive me? Say for example you were running for an open door, and I not seeing you, slammed it; because I am a hyper young thing, and it caused you to walk into the door. Would you forgive me, if it was a complete mistake. I hope you would. Now I understand that walking into the door may have hurt you, but I really didn't mean to. Sorry. I want to apologise in advance for a comment Psam made which may hurt. I really mean it too. It will seem disrespectful and callous, but I can vouch for him. It wasn't meant to hurt. It wasn't meant to be disrespectful. In reality I know he meant it as a compliment. Some people do not understand because they have never been there. Please do not take offence and do not think bad thoughts towards him. If I could take the comment off of the blog I would... I just don't know how.

In keeping with that thought process, would you wish me to take the infamous "mohammed" log off of here? I can delete it.

Now back to business.........---->

Picture by Rembrandt. Comments on the painting here.(link below) It rocks. Ya gotta love him. http://images.google.ca/imgres?imgurl=http://www.tcf.ua.edu/Classes/Jbutler/T112/Expressionism/Madonna.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.tcf.ua.edu/Classes/Jbutler/T112/Expressionism/Index.htm&h=600&w=453&sz=40&tbnid=nii22slm9g0UmM:&tbnh=133&tbnw=100&hl=en&start=13&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dedvard%2Bmunch%26svnum%3D10%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D

I hope to send out some thoughts on Hugo Chavez soon. Not tonite though. Gotta remember what his nickname is.

I have never had the pleasure of having my dog participate in the comment section. Whoever that is... thanx. As far as Tuffy goes, uh, he goes. Now Tuesday is Psam's dad's cat. Marmalade? I haven't seen her in years. So yeah. A hearty welcome. ( I gotta tell ya though, if Dean Bradley's dog "Blackie" starts making comments I am gonna freak out! )[ I would also nearly have an Kofi Annan, (hernia-heartie combo) if HappyMood and the Poodle were to write in.]

Have you ever heard a quote that stuck in your mind. A quote that inspired you. The famous speech by Churchill of " blood, toil, tears, and sweat" or even Martin Luther King with " I have a dream," can be very warming. I actually like the quote by the Donald (previous post) which is a reflection on what he is all about. I read his book in the 80's and it was very interesting. However, the quote of the month follows. There are times in life when hype marrs the main event. There are times in life when the anticipation puts such a high standard in ones mind that the actual act is in fact disappointing. I will humbly submit to you that this quote is one that is so amazing you will remember it and be inspired for a life time. This is something you could pass on to your grandchildren. This tantalizing tidbit is one that defines an era, defines a man, and uplifts. It is not a quote by the former Vice Prez, Dan Quayle. It is not a quote by Ghandi. Hold your breath ladies and gentlemen, please sit down those of you with a faint heart......... It is a quote by Mike Tyson! "You are a scared coward." I am at a loss for words. What is a scared coward. Is there such thing as a brave coward? I am at a loss. His mind is more than mine ever will be. Oh, did you get the secret message in the previous post. There is one. You may have to type it out backwards tho. I am not lying, there is a secret message.

Thanks for the message Tuffy. Now I am asking you. I am pleading. I DO NOT WANT PAULS FIAT LEAVING A MESSAGE. I just don't want it to happen.

Good day and good luck.

T- is for... what?
Tuffy.

The biggest baddest pile of Red and Blue decoys.

It was helium that set the United States apart from the rest of the world. They could fly their airships with more safety than others because they did not use hydrogen. The disaster of the Hindenburg is testament to that. The great wonder, in spectacular fashion fell to the ground. Hydrogen lifted the zeppelins quicker, but when mixed with air was extremely flammable. The US refused to sell their supply of helium because of its rarity. With this in mind the spire of the Worlds greatest building was engineered to allow these monstrous air machines an anchor to the site. Those anchor points are still there today. The building, referred among one of the seven great wonders of the world is known as the Empire State Building. It is the tallest in New York City and one of the most legendary on Earth.

April 27th 2006, the 75th anniversary of the opening of the aforementioned wonder, the first shovels broke the dirt on a new tower. The structure will rise to 1776 feet above the ground, a height in remembrance of a certain year. What did happen in 1776? Well one has to wonder what the next edition holds. Lets check.

Firstly, she has wider “emergency” stairs. Every staircase, elevator shaft and riser has at least 90cm thick walls. There is a dedicated set of stairs for firefighters. Included also is filtering for chemical and biological agents in the air ventilation system. She will stay at least 27m away from any other building except on one side. To compensate for this, on the side which is 20m from the other building, specially designed glass will be blast resistant plastic, but will look the same as any other pane on the other sides. From the rooftop, water will be recycled, not for drinking but for other uses like watering the vast array of flowers and plants.

Included at the base a combination of stainless steel and polished titanium and a huge lobby boasting dining areas with 27m ceilings. The base has also been designed to combat a ground level bomb, in which there will be no windows for the first 52 meters. The shape will be a simple one, but as it rises it will appear as an obelisk shape, extending up to a massive spire echoing the raised arm of the Statue of Liberty. Extending upward will be a light beaming up into night sky. The observation deck, open to the public, will sit just above the height of World Trade Tower II and will be the highest public viewing area in America.

Criticism of the building has been high. Many feel that there should be at least 2 buildings like there were before, and higher ones at that. Symbolically it should be noted, terrorism destroyed twin towers and only one has been rebuilt. It sticks in the craw of some. Donald Trump another opponent, called it “the worst pile of crap architecture I have ever seen in my life!” He had submitted his own design but it was rejected. George Pataki, the Governor, allegedly used his influence to get the winning architects bid approved as a personal favour for a friend. The controversy continues even as the building begins. One just has to wonder how many changes to the plans will ensue. Is apathy towards change, in this case, progress?

I could have a hundred questions about the building. However, upon this writing one remains dominant. The Dubai Tower is supposed to surpass any tower ever built, and its completion will be years before this “Freedom Tower” is completed. Will the symbolic height (1776) be discarded and the pride of New York dictate, that this tower will become the tallest ever?

No Zeppelin hooks? Will it become legendary, a wonder? I wonder.

Less than 20 to go…

Leonardo...why? awww not her...again!(not edited)

Dear Psam,

In reply to your comments on the last weblog………

Since 1867 there have been 243 members of Parliament who have “crossed the floor,” been kicked out of their caucus or just switched parties.

Famous and infamous federal party changers
» In September 1868, Jamaican-born Nova Scotia judge Stewart Campbell became Canada’s first switcher—just 14 months after Confederation. He changed from Anti-Confederate to Liberal-Conservative.
» Joseph Henri Napolean Bourassa dropped the Liberal party and became an Independent in 1900 to protest Canada’s role in the South African war.
» To protest conscription in the First World War, Honoré Achim crossed the floor from the Liberals to the Conservatives in 1917.
» George William Andrews dropped the Liberals and became an Independent over the party’s handling of the Winnipeg General Strike of 1919, during which Mounties beat workers, killing two of them.
» In 1922, Progressive Joseph Binnet became a Liberal because he lacked confidence in his party.
» The first woman elected to the House of Commons, Agnes MacPhail, changed from the Progressive party to the United Farmers of Ontario- Labour in 1935.
» Gilles Duceppe changed from Independent to the Bloc Québécois—the party he now leads—four months after he was elected in 1990.
» Lucien Bouchard, onetime Bloc Québécois leader, switched from Progressive Conservative to Independent in 1990, then to the Bloc seven months later.
» Founding member of the Reform Party Deborah Grey left the Canadian Alliance in 2002 to sit as an Independent.
» Former prime minister Joe Clark changed from Conservative to Independent in February 2004.
» Belinda Stronach crossed the floor in 2005, from Conservative to Liberal.
Source: the Library of Parliament

Joe Peschisolido in 2000, was an Alliance MP, who months after the election switched to the Liberals, after narrowly being elected.

Provincial BC politics, the respected Gordon Wilson, went from being the head of the Liberal Party, to forming his own, and finally landing as an NDP member.

Belinda (mentioned above) Gordon, and Joe, all seemed to have switched parties for just plain personal gain. As a member of Parliament do I have the right to change my mind? Psam, would you have felt better if Mr Emerson waited a few months, picked a fight with the Liberals and then switched, like Gilles and Lucien did, before becoming members for the Bloc Quebecois. It is alleged by some that they planned to dupe their original parties from the beginning so they could advance the cause of the Parti Quebecois. I doubt that is the case but who knows. Do not forget that they had a part to play in the near separation of Canada. Should each of these people get jail time?

It was presented to me, and please forgive me if I am incorrect as I do not live in your country, that Emerson was targeted by the Conservatives because he is the right man for the job. From the headlines I have seen he is sure doing a lot more for Canada in his role as International Trade Minister than his predecessor did. Pierre pretty boy Pettigrew, (appointed before being elected because he is a Quebecite) an eastern Canadian, did nothing but hurt the Canadian softwood lumber interests in negotiations with the US. There have been over 5 billion dollars levied in tariffs against Canadien lumber producers during and since his tenure. As of last week, Emerson has negotiated to get 80% of that back. He has become a part of the solution, working with his American counter parts to facilitate an agreement which works for both parties.
http://www.canada.com/nationalpost/news/story.html?id=086efd14-ece9-4d88-b1cb-796ea90e8c0e&k=9671

Finally. Don’t forget that the Liberal and Conservative parties are essentially two factions that basically share the same ideology. In reality they are not that far apart. I would submit to you Psam, that engineering the slaughter of your own people, stealing money, accepting bribes, raping, and acts of that ilk deserve jail time. Accepting a position in which one feels they are likely to excel in doesn’t merit jail time. If David Emerson does an excellent job and helps people of his country prosper for it, then I think he is doing the right thing. Do you?

Diplomacy theories--> lessonizing

So, in the previous post you saw the looong letter. I was thinking that Psam could have written it. It seems to be the kind of letter he would right errr write.

Now why is Mahmood so smart? Let us look

Lesson one. Always appear to tell the truth at the beginning. Iran. We hate Israel, we will take nuclear power for ourselves, and YOU should all butt out. None of this mamby pamby pussy footing around. Tell it as it is. Hey look what happened to the other guy….. “ I did not have sexual relations with THAT WOMAN….” A lie bites ya…..

Lesson two. Make yourself warm and fuzzy. In the letter, I am not the leader of the Islamic Republic, I am a teacher. Heck, who doesn’t like a teacher? Well there was this one….

Lesson three. Garner public support. How? Find the most vocal opponents of your opponent, preferably in his own country, and plagiarise their views.

Lesson four. Attempt a swipe at getting support from your opponents main supporters. It was said that the religious middle America re elected Bush. Mahmood comes across as somewhat caring, and one that is the follower of his god.

Lesson five. Tactfully smear your opponent. Make him look like a false believer, one who is generally disliked by everyone else, and one who will oppress the little guy to get ahead himself.

Lesson six. Appear honourable.

Lesson seven. Complicate the issue. Let everyone else argue, and point fingers…. and we will quietly go about our business…….. “Raj, hurry up with those cadmium rods for Allah’s sake.” “Mohammed, pass me the heavy water.”

Now lets look at a few other facts.

Did you know—Iran belongs to OPEC
They are the second largest exporter ( or third ) of oil within OPEC
Population- 69 million.
GDP- 550 billion
Over 90% of the population is Muslim.

Notice lately, the suggestion that Indonesia, which has the world’s highest Muslim population has been suggested as a possible mediator. And the big question is….

If Iran is swimming in oil, why do they need nuclear power? It sounds a little fishy to me. Let us look back at lesson one. Hmmm.

Lastly.
Tara I need you on this one.
I added the word plagiarize to this piece. Do I spell it the first way, (above)< see lesson 3> or the way I just spelt it? I prefer the first way. Is one way more correct than the other way?

Is Mah (HappyMood) mood correct or is Bushie correct? Or both, or neither.

I know Psam nose.

Diplomacy! US vs Iran. Round 2

I have soooo much I would like to discuss. No time to put thoughts to paper though.

First, a copy of the letter to George Dubya. It is looong but you will get the gist of it in the first page or two, for those of you who don't want to read it. I will post it, and give you my thoughts on the next web log. Just a quick opinion though. This fella, unpronouncable name prez of Iran is a smart cookie. Why? Read below. Whether you agree or disagree with him he is doing a great job at muddy-ing the waters. I just love diplomacy among nations.... we have a great display happening right now. Enjoy.

Letter below... it is a bit long.

Mr George Bush,
President of the United States of America
For sometime now I have been thinking, how one can justify the undeniable contradictions
that exist in the international arena -- which are being constantly debated, specially in political
forums and amongst university students. Many questions remain unanswered. These have
prompted me to discuss some of the contradictions and questions, in the hopes that it might
bring about an opportunity to redress them.
Can one be a follower of Jesus Christ (PBUH), the great Messenger of God,
Feel obliged to respect human rights,
Present liberalism as a civilization model,
Announce one’s opposition to the proliferation of nuclear weapons and WMDs,
Make “War and Terror” his slogan,
And finally,
Work towards the establishment of a unified international community – a community which
Christ and the virtuous of the Earth will one day govern,
But at the same time,
Have countries attacked; The lives, reputations and possessions of people destroyed and on
the slight chance of the … of a … criminals in a village city, or convoy for example the entire
village, city or convey set ablaze.
Or because of the possibility of the existence of WMDs in one country, it is occupied, around
one hundred thousand people killed, its water sources, agriculture and industry destroyed,
close to 180,000 foreign troops put on the ground, sanctity of private homes of citizens
broken, and the country pushed back perhaps fifty years. At what price? Hundreds of billions
of dollars spent from the treasury of one country and certain other countries and tens of
thousands of young men and women – as occupation troops – put in harms way, taken away
from family and love ones, their hands stained with the blood of others, subjected to so much
psychological pressure that everyday some commit suicide ant those returning home suffer
depression, become sickly and grapple with all sorts of aliments; while some are killed and
their bodies handed of their families.
On the pretext of the existence of WMDs, this great tragedy came to engulf both the peoples
of the occupied and the occupying country. Later it was revealed that no WMDs existed to
begin with.
Of course Saddam was a murderous dictator. But the war was not waged to topple him, the
announced goal of the war was to find and destroy weapons of mass destruction. He was
toppled along the way towards another goal, nevertheless the people of the region are happy
about it. I point out that throughout the many years of the … war on Iran Saddam was
supported by the West.
Mr President,
You might know that I am a teacher. My students ask me how can theses actions be
reconciled with the values outlined at the beginning of this letter and duty to the tradition of
Jesus Christ (PBUH), the Messenger of peace and forgiveness.
There are prisoners in Guantanamo Bay that have not been tried, have no legal representation,
their families cannot see them and are obviously kept in a strange land outside their own
country. There is no international monitoring of their conditions and fate. No one knows
whether they are prisoners, POWs, accused or criminals.
European investigators have confirmed the existence of secret prisons in Europe too. I could
not correlate the abduction of a person, and him or her being kept in secret prisons, with the
provisions of any judicial system. For that matter, I fail to understand how such actions
correspond to the values outlined in the beginning of this letter, i.e. the teachings of Jesus
Christ (PBUH), human rights and liberal values.
Young people, university students and ordinary people have many questions about the
phenomenon of Israel. I am sure you are familiar with some of them.
Throughout history many countries have been occupied, but I think the establishment of a
new country with a new people, is a new phenomenon that is exclusive to our times.
Students are saying that sixty years ago such a country did no exist. The show old documents
and globes and say try as we have, we have not been able to find a country named Israel.
I tell them to study the history of WWI and II. One of my students told me that during WWII,
which more than tens of millions of people perished in, news about the war, was quickly
disseminated by the warring parties. Each touted their victories and the most recent battlefront
defeat of the other party. After the war, they claimed that six million Jews had been killed. Six
million people that were surely related to at least two million families.
Again let us assume that these events are true. Does that logically translate into the
establishment of the state of Israel in the Middle East or support for such a state? How can
this phenomenon be rationalised or explained?
Mr President,
I am sure you know how – and at what cost – Israel was established:
- Many thousands were killed in the process.
- Millions of indigenous people were made refugees.
- Hundred of thousands of hectares of farmland, olive plantations, towns and villages
were destroyed.
This tragedy is not exclusive to the time of establishment; unfortunately it has been ongoing
for sixty years now.
A regime has been established which does not show mercy even to kids, destroys houses
while the occupants are still in them, announces beforehand its list and plans to assassinate
Palestinian figures and keeps thousands of Palestinians in prison. Such a phenomenon is
unique – or at the very least extremely rare – in recent memory.
Another big question asked by people is why is this regime being supported?
Is support for this regime in line with the teachings of Jesus Christ (PBUH) or Moses (PBUH)
or liberal values?
Or are we to understand that allowing the original inhabitants of these lands – inside and
outside Palestine – whether they are Christian, Muslim or Jew, to determine their fate, runs
contrary to principles of democracy, human rights and the teachings of prophets? If not, why
is there so much opposition to a referendum?
The newly elected Palestinian administration recently took office. All independent observes
have confirmed that this government represents the electorate. Unbelievingly, they have put
the elected government under pressure and have advised it to recognise the Israeli regime,
abandon the struggle and follow the programs of the previous government.
If the current Palestinian government had run on the above platform, would the Palestinian
people have voted for it? Again, can such position taken in opposition to the Palestinian
government be reconciled with the values outlined earlier? The people are also saying “why
are all UNSC resolutions in condemnation of Israel vetoed?”
Mr President,
As you are well aware, I live amongst the people and am in constant contact with them --
many people from around the Middle East manage to contact me as well. They dot not have
faith in these dubious policies either. There is evidence that the people of the region are
becoming increasingly angry with such policies.
It is not my intention to pose to many questions, but I need to refer to other points as well.
Why is it that any technological and scientific achievement reached in the Middle East
regions is translated into and portrayed as a threat to the Zionist regime? Is not scientific
R&D one of the basic rights of nations.
You are familiar with history. Aside from the Middle Ages, in what other point in history has
scientific and technical progress been a crime? Can the possibility of scientific achievements
being utilised for military purposes be reason enough to oppose science and technology
altogether? If such a supposition is true, then all scientific disciplines, including physics,
chemistry, mathematics, medicine, engineering, etc. must be opposed.
Lies were told in the Iraqi matter. What was the result? I have no doubt that telling lies is
reprehensible in any culture, and you do not like to be lied to.
Mr President,
Don’t Latin Americans have the right to ask, why their elected governments are being
opposed and coup leaders supported? Or, why must they constantly be threatened and live in
fear?
The people of Africa are hardworking, creative and talented. They can play an important and
valuable role in providing for the needs of humanity and contribute to its material and
spiritual progress. Poverty and hardship in large parts of Africa are preventing this from
happening. Don’t they have the right to ask why their enormous wealth – including minerals –
is being looted, despite the fact that they need it more than others?
Again, do such actions correspond to the teachings of Christ and the tenets of human rights?
The brave and faithful people of Iran too have many questions and grievances, including: the
coup d’etat of 1953 and the subsequent toppling of the legal government of the day,
opposition to the Islamic revolution, transformation of an Embassy into a headquarters
supporting, the activities of those opposing the Islamic Republic (many thousands of pages of
documents corroborates this claim), support for Saddam in the war waged against Iran, the
shooting down of the Iranian passenger plane, freezing the assets of the Iranian nation,
increasing threats, anger and displeasure vis-à-vis the scientific and nuclear progress of the
Iranian nation (just when all Iranians are jubilant and collaborating their country’s progress),
and many other grievances that I will not refer to in this letter.
Mr President,
September Eleven was a horrendous incident. The killing of innocents is deplorable and
appalling in any part of the world. Our government immediately declared its disgust with the
perpetrators and offered its condolences to the bereaved and expressed its sympathies.
All governments have a duty to protect the lives, property and good standing of their citizens.
Reportedly your government employs extensive security, protection and intelligence systems
– and even hunts its opponents abroad. September eleven was not a simple operation. Could it
be planned and executed without coordination with intelligence and security services – or
their extensive infiltration? Of course this is just an educated guess. Why have the various
aspects of the attacks been kept secret? Why are we not told who botched their
responsibilities? And, why aren’t those responsible and the guilty parties identified and put
on trial?
All governments have a duty to provide security and peace of mind for their citizens. For
some years now, the people of your country and neighbours of world trouble spots do not
have peace of mind. After 9.11, instead of healing and tending to the emotional wounds of the
survivors and the American people – who had been immensely traumatised by the attacks –
some Western media only intensified the climates of fear and insecurity – some constantly
talked about the possibility of new terror attacks and kept the people in fear. Is that service to
the American people? Is it possible to calculate the damages incurred from fear and panic?
American citizen lived in constant fear of fresh attacks that could come at any moment and in
any place. They felt insecure in the streets, in their place of work and at home. Who would be
happy with this situation? Why was the media, instead of conveying a feeling of security and
providing peace of mind, giving rise to a feeling of insecurity?
Some believe that the hype paved the way – and was the justification – for an attack on
Afghanistan. Again I need to refer to the role of media.
In media charters, correct dissemination of information and honest reporting of a story are
established tenets. I express my deep regret about the disregard shown by certain Western
media for these principles. The main pretext for an attack on Iraq was the existence of
WMDs. This was repeated incessantly – for the public to, finally, believe – and the ground
set for an attack on Iraq.
Will the truth not be lost in a contrive and deceptive climate?
Again, if the truth is allowed to be lost, how can that be reconciled with the earlier mentioned
values?
Is the truth known to the Almighty lost as well?
Mr President,
In countries around the world, citizens provide for the expenses of governments so that their
governments in turn are able to serve them.
The question here is “what has the hundreds of billions of dollars, spent every year to pay for
the Iraqi campaign, produced for the citizens?”
As your Excellency is aware, in some states of your country, people are living in poverty.
Many thousands are homeless and unemployment is a huge problem. Of course these
problems exist – to a larger or lesser extent – in other countries as well. With these conditions
in mind, can the gargantuan expenses of the campaign – paid from the public treasury – be
explained and be consistent with the aforementioned principles?
What has been said, are some of the grievances of the people around the world, in our region
and in your country. But my main contention – which I am hoping you will agree to some of
it – is:
Those in power have specific time in office, and do not rule indefinitely, but their names will
be recorded in history and will be constantly judged in the immediate and distant futures.
The people will scrutinize our presidencies.
Did we manage to bring peace, security and prosperity for the people or insecurity and
unemployment?
Did we intend to establish justice, or just supported especial interest groups, and by forcing
many people to live in poverty and hardship, made a few people rich and powerful – thus
trading the approval of the people and the Almighty with theirs’?
Did we defend the rights of the underprivileged or ignore them?
Did we defend the rights of all people around the world or imposed wars on them, interfered
illegally in their affairs, established hellish prisons and incarcerated some of them?
Did we bring the world peace and security or raised the specter of intimidation and threats?
Did we tell the truth to our nation and others around the world or presented an inverted
version of it?
Were we on the side of people or the occupiers and oppressors?
Did our administration set out to promote rational behaviour, logic, ethics, peace, fulfilling
obligations, justice, service to the people, prosperity, progress and respect for human dignity
or the force of guns.
Intimidation, insecurity, disregard for the people, delaying the progress and excellence of
other nations, and trample on people’s rights?
And finally, they will judge us on whether we remained true to our oath of office – to serve
the people, which is our main task, and the traditions of the prophets – or not?
Mr President,
How much longer can the world tolerate this situation?
Where will this trend lead the world to?
How long must the people of the world pay for the incorrect decisions of some rulers?
How much longer will the specter of insecurity – raised from the stockpiles of weapons of
mass destruction – hunt the people of the world?
How much longer will the blood of the innocent men, women and children be spilled on the
streets, and people’s houses destroyed over their heads?
Are you pleased with the current condition of the world?
Do you think present policies can continue?
If billions of dollars spent on security, military campaigns and troop movement were instead
spent on investment and assistance for poor countries, promotion of health, combating
different diseases, education and improvement of mental and physical fitness, assistance to
the victims of natural disasters, creation of employment opportunities and production,
development projects and poverty alleviation, establishment of peace, mediation between
disputing states and distinguishing the flames of racial, ethnic and other conflicts were would
the world be today? Would not your government, and people be justifiably proud?
Would not your administration’s political and economic standing have been stronger?
And I am most sorry to say, would there have been an ever increasing global hatred of the
American governments?
Mr President, it is not my intention to distress anyone.
If prophet Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Ishmael, Joseph or Jesus Christ (PBUH) were with us
today, how would they have judged such behaviour? Will we be given a role to play in the
promised world, where justice will become universal and Jesus Christ (PBUH) will be
present? Will they even accept us?
My basic question is this: Is there no better way to interact with the rest of the world? Today
there are hundreds of millions of Christians, hundreds of millions of Moslems and millions of
people who follow the teachings of Moses (PBUH). All divine religions share and respect on
word and that is “monotheism” or belief in a single God and no other in the world.
The holy Koran stresses this common word and calls on an followers of divine religions and
says: [3.64] Say: O followers of the Book! Come to an equitable proposition between us and
you that we shall not serve any but Allah and (that) we shall not associate aught. With Him
and (that) some of us shall not take others for lords besides Allah, but if they turn back, then
say: Bear witness that we are Muslims. (The Family of Imran).
Mr President,
According to divine verses, we have all been called upon to worship one God and follow the
teachings of divine prophets.
“To worship a God which is above all powers in the world and can do all He pleases.” “The
Lord which knows that which is hidden and visible, the past and the future, knows what goes
on in the Hearts of His servants and records their deeds.”
“The Lord who is the possessor of the heavens and the earth and all universe is His court”
“planning for the universe is done by His hands, and gives His servants the glad tidings of
mercy and forgiveness of sins”. “He is the companion of the oppressed and the enemy of
oppressors”. “He is the Compassionate, the Merciful”. “He is the recourse of the faithful and
guides them towards the light from darkness”. “He is witness to the actions of His servants”,
“He calls on servants to be faithful and do good deeds, and asks them to stay on the path of
righteousness and remain steadfast”. “Calls on servants to heed His prophets and He is a
witness to their deeds.” “A bad ending belongs only to those who have chosen the life of this
world and disobey Him and oppress His servants”. And “A good and eternal paradise belong
to those servants who fear His majesty and do not follow their lascivious selves.”
We believe a return to the teachings of the divine prophets is the only road leading to
salvations. I have been told that Your Excellency follows the teachings of Jesus (PBUH), and
believes in the divine promise of the rule of the righteous on Earth.
We also believe that Jesus Christ (PBUH) was one of the great prophets of the Almighty. He
has been repeatedly praised in the Koran. Jesus (PBUH) has been quoted in Koran as well;
[19,36] And surely Allah is my Lord and your Lord, therefore serves Him; this is the right
path, Marium.
Service to and obedience of the Almighty is the credo of all divine messengers.
The God of all people in Europe, Asia, Africa, America, the Pacific and the rest of the world
is one. He is the Almighty who wants to guide and give dignity to all His servants. He has
given greatness to Humans.
We again read in the Holy Book: “The Almighty God sent His prophets with miracles and
clear signs to guide the people and show them divine signs and purity them from sins and
pollutions. And He sent the Book and the balance so that the people display justice and avoid
the rebellious.”
All of the above verses can be seen, one way or the other, in the Good Book as well.
Divine prophets have promised:
The day will come when all humans will congregate before the court of the Almighty, so that
their deeds are examined. The good will be directed towards Haven and evildoers will meet
divine retribution. I trust both of us believe in such a day, but it will not be easy to calculate
the actions of rulers, because we must be answerable to our nations and all others whose lives
have been directly or indirectly effected by our actions.
All prophets, speak of peace and tranquillity for man – based on monotheism, justice and
respect for human dignity.
Do you not think that if all of us come to believe in and abide by these principles, that is,
monotheism, worship of God, justice, respect for the dignity of man, belief in the Last Day,
we can overcome the present problems of the world – that are the result of disobedience to the
Almighty and the teachings of prophets – and improve our performance?
Do you not think that belief in these principles promotes and guarantees peace, friendship and
justice?
Do you not think that the aforementioned written or unwritten principles are universally
respected?
Will you not accept this invitation? That is, a genuine return to the teachings of prophets, to
monotheism and justice, to preserve human dignity and obedience to the Almighty and His
prophets?
Mr President,
History tells us that repressive and cruel governments do not survive. God has entrusted
The fate of man to them. The Almighty has not left the universe and humanity to their own
devices. Many things have happened contrary to the wishes and plans of governments. These
tell us that there is a higher power at work and all events are determined by Him.
Can one deny the signs of change in the world today?
Is this situation of the world today comparable to that of ten years ago? Changes happen fast
and come at a furious pace.
The people of the world are not happy with the status quo and pay little heed to the promises
and comments made by a number of influential world leaders. Many people around the wolrd
feel insecure and oppose the spreading of insecurity and war and do not approve of and accept
dubious policies.
The people are protesting the increasing gap between the haves and the have-nots and the rich
and poor countries.
The people are disgusted with increasing corruption.
The people of many countries are angry about the attacks on their cultural foundations and the
disintegration of families. They are equally dismayed with the fading of care and compassion.
The people of the world have no faith in international organisations, because their rights are
not advocated by these organisations.
Liberalism and Western style democracy have not been able to help realize the ideals of
humanity. Today these two concepts have failed. Those with insight can already hear the
sounds of the shattering and fall of the ideology and thoughts of the liberal democratic
systems.
We increasingly see that people around the world are flocking towards a main focal point –
that is the Almighty God. Undoubtedly through faith in God and the teachings of the
prophets, the people will conquer their problems. My question for you is: “Do you not want to
join them?”
Mr President,
Whether we like it or not, the world is gravitating towards faith in the Almighty and justice
and the will of God will prevail over all things.

PaperBoy and Zelda.//www.hakk.coms

In the early 80’s Gary became very interested in video games. Thinking back I remember Space Invaders, Donkey Kong, Frogger, and the magical feelings I felt while playing. Of course the games were new to our parents, and I guess it could be noted they were a first for all kids across the world. The beginning of what is a multi billion dollar industry, and the beginning of a new age. The computer age. Yes one cold argue that it began before this time, but that isn’t what this story is about. Gary McKinnon loved, as I did, Pac Man. Think back. Do you remember being completely engrossed in getting to the power pellet just before the “ghosts” did, and then devouring them? In 1981 he allegedly held the Guinness book of records high score and was absolutely hooked on the game. When War Games (movie) came out he was so impressed, that he renewed his efforts to know more about hacking.

Elsewhere, John Young and Robert Crippen waited. The day was April 12, 1981. They were nervous but felt prepared for what they had to do. Thousands of people prepared for millions of man hours and these two would risk their lives to prove the efforts of these very gifted people were not in vain. The amount of data involved in this operation, stored in multiple facilities was staggering. Ten seconds to go. Are you ready? The seconds ticked away.

Groom Lake. For you Google Earth lovers, check these coordinates. (37°16′05″N, 115°47′58″W), and (37°14′N 115°49′W) Don’t be surprised if the areas in between are blocked out. You can however get images if you are a good searcher. The U-2 spy planes were successfully developed here. It looks pretty ordinary above, but there have been too many accounts of an apparent underground base. You will not find any of these on the net. Or can you?

Zoom ahead 20 years. 2001. (What else happened that year?) Gary began his steps into NASA, and various US Military sites via a dial up connection. There has been some dispute amongst various communities as to whether or not he should be labelled as a “superhacker.” Some exclaim it is a title that shouldn’t be bestowed upon him because of its connotations. Nevertheless, he did enjoy exploring secrets within the Military and NASA for a period of more than a couple of years. Authorities claim it has been “the biggest military hack of all time." McKinnon, aka "solo," allegedly cracked into 53 heavily fortified Pentagon computers between 2001 and 2002, an act in which he was only caught while downloading a top secret picture of an actual alien spacecraft. Initially he was let go, and because he wasn’t damaging anything or hurting anyone and told he would likely only have a sentence of 6 months community service. Now, a few years later, it has been revealed, sensationally, that he may face 70 years behind bars inside the US and possibly sent to Guantanamo Bay. He will fight being extradited from Britain. His findings include, anti gravity, energy advances, and concrete evidence of extraterrestrials. It sounds far fetched. It sounds like he could be a liar. It sounds crazy. Pac Man sounded crazy and as if it would head nowhere in 1981 too. If you were told in 1981 what the future of the internet would bring, it would even seem crazier. Is believing in what Gary McKinnon claims.... crazy? Ask the US Government. They would say yes I think. What do they do at Groom Lake? And what do people like Crippen and Young know that we don't?

I AM A ROW-BOT!

Well, Hello to you.
I have been away to beautiful Sydney on a course. So how are ya? I am sure you have been well. Tara, what have you been up ta? Pawl, why do I never see you? AV, nice comment on the cruise ship. Hopefully you have been doing well. Giggleseiz, haven’t seen you in a while, good to see you. Bench. You suck. John where have you been?

Zanzibar. Would you like to go there on a holiday? Sounds like a pretty hot place. Dadost, you were right. The American military was mentioned as the possible culprits for the dead dolphins. It has not been proved though.

I had a tragic experience this week. I was driving, following somebody, and missed an opportunity to go to Krispy Kreme. It was rather disconcerting.

Vance has been up to a bit of mischief this week. It seems that bbq person got arrested. He/she did, assault the shoppe attendant. It seems he/she started talking normally, but the attendant was a total jerk. In his defence, though, it unfortunately appears as though there was a bad batch of bbq covers, and nearly every cover has been returned. The assault happened, when the vendor made a callous comment about our hero’s weight. The manager, nonetheless gave our hero a better cover just before the police made their appearance. So at this point the question needs to be asked. Is our hero a male or a female? What is her/his name? Suggestions.

A—female
B—male

Second ques…

C—Jim
D—Sally
E—other… you choose

Darfur. A peace agreement is in place. Did you notice that George (not Bush) Clooney got involved? What do you think of him? Africa, Africa. Project Red. Google that. It seems another celebrity is concerned. Rightfully so though, I would row.

The big deal about the bigger bang is located here. Keith Richards has been in the news lately. He allegedly fell out of a coconut tree, in Fiji, and concussed himself. No operation was needed and the tour is going on. Personally, I think the guy is cool. The Stones are a bunch of old fogies, rockin like they are 40 years younger than they are. As far as the music goes, their latest releases suck. However, you gotta admire them as they are, in my opinion, the epitome of cool.

Psam, you are WEAK. Thanks for your comment though. Oh, and in case I never mentioned it, Tara and Puh-sam thanks for your contributions to this site. Officially… you 2 ROCK. You did very well. Haddock approves, and so does Calculus.

South Korea. The world’s second android was created. She has a vocabulary of 400 words, and can move her upper body. Modelled after a Korean female in her early 20’s she is able from a distance to appear human. I won’t be a Psam and say it shouldn’t be done, because it has been. (Me? What do you think?) We already have robot’s checking out bombs. We enjoy a computer generated voice in elevators, and follow her prompts while on hold. Have you ever heard a male tele prompter while on hold? Now in relation to dadost’s comment on the sick advances in technology and the government WATCHING us, do you think we will see android servants in the not too distant future? I don’t know, but it sounds kind of neat to me.

Those Aussies play soooooooooon. World Cup time!

Heh heh. I googled images. My topic was psam. Try it. This is the picture I got. Seems fitting.

Plastic world. No thinking please.

Aa quick hello to ya tis tiem.
Should we do a couple wiithout pictures, or do you like the pictoral dia-rhea??

Ii hope you remember Zanzibar. (see the ghost worker episode) Hundreds of dolphins, are washing up on the shores, dead. Nobody knows why. It is a mystery. Scientists are speculating that a massive sonar blast from a submarine is the culprit. Sad.

Afghanistan. You ever hear about the dog that never barked? Why is it that we never hear anything about the conflict over there? If the russians, who fought there, for about ten years, yes ten years, couldn't achieve victory, and America does it in 3 months...supposedly. Shouldn't alarm bells be ringing here? We rarely here anything about it. Why? What is really happening?

Lastly, I googled the heck out of this, but couldn't get an answer. When Iran says that getting nuclear power is their "red line" what doesthis mean? Check er out. Is the translation lost between cultures?

Where is psam? scared huh.
