Ya plo? ( yae-ploe) Eek! Psam likes expensive flip flops.

Psam, you continue to astound me.
I did like the comments you made way back in february or march, asking about fire. Back in the cave man days after realizing that you could make fire by rubbing 2 sticks together some people got burnt. At that point the question was asked as to whether fire should be banned because some people got burned. I like your thoughts too. They are passionate and a reflection of what you are all about. Tara, you and I should be honoured by Puh sam z comments at the end of the last web log.

I have to say, however, that you are wrong, dead wrong on your opinions about democracy. In your fury over the issue of "crossing the floor" you have allowed it to cloud your better judgement. Your thoughts on being "de-elected" are a little skewed. You used Ralphie in your speech, so let us use him in this example. ( see psam's comments on the previous "chinese control" blog to find out what it is I am responding to.)

Do you remember the recession in the late eighties to early nineties, in Alberta. Don Getty, the previous premier of Alberta had spent his tax dollars like a "drunken sailor," and the situation Ralph Klein inherited was bleak. One will also remember in 1992 that oil prices were low and that Alberta was in decline. He told the voters that many programs had to be cut, because of fiscal irresponsibility. And cut he did. And did the people ever complain. It was bad. Quite bad. Now according to your strategy, Psam, this is the point in which he would have been "deelected." The media had a field days slamming the shortcomings of Klein, like he was an idiot. Does that mean then Psam, that you would support a media run state? If the rich owned the media then they could "spin" any issue into their candidate's favour. When I say "their candidate's favour," I mean the candidate they control..... this is only one contrary opinion I will leave the others for YOU>

Trivia. Who is the man pictured. Hint#1. he's dead. Hint#2. German. Quadrangles Horse. Wood. Revelation.... Hint#3. Caffeine isn't a drug it is a stimulant. Hint#4. One of these hints isn't a hint.

That wasn't a nice thing to say about our Psam!

It is a self portrait of Albrecht Durer.

Thank you Tara.

It was a wise choice Manning made. Ralph would have been a tough act to follow. In fact, Preston's feet are too small to wear Ralph's shoes. You are right Chanks. We gobble up what the media feeds us but in the end, history always proves to be our best teacher. But then again, this is but one man's opinion.

well ofcourse we know that Hint 3 isn't a hint.

I once knew a man that was very involved in the Reform Party. He soon learned that like all politicians, their ideals get flushed as soon as they make it into office. Manning, Dey, Harper, Emerson. Doesn't really matter if they cross the floor or not.

Chankslee, you must know this song?

Money, get away.
Get a good job with good pay and you're okay.
Money, it's a gas.
Grab that cash with both hands and make a stash.
New car, caviar, four star daydream,
Think I'll buy me a football team.

Money, get back.
I'm all right Jack keep your hands off of my stack.
Money, it's a hit.
Don't give me that do goody good bulls@*t.
I'm in the high-fidelity first class traveling set
And I think I need a Lear jet.

Me

AV, you are right. Good job. I will have to make it more challenging. Newbie, you aren't so new anymore....but again this is just one man's opinion. Spaget would like to hear more of you. Finally where is psam? I did this column for you dude. HEY, do you reckon that old Ralphie will become PM after Harper crashes and burns?

When did chankslee say I was an idiot? Thanks for letting me know, Tara and AV. I'm on the phone with him right now and I think I'm going to call him an idiot back.

Democracy. If you vote, you're part of it. If you plan to ever vote again, you're definitely part of it. If you feel your vote would be put to better use using an ongoing tally of votes instead of one single vote every four years, so that your vote is ALWAYS significant except those rare circumstances when the government decides to let you have your itty bitty widdu say, then remember how the process works and encourage it among other voters you know. It would be a welcome change and it would have many beneficial results.
chankslee believes this process would not actually improve a nation, but rather deteriorate it. He is just one man, but there are a lot of people who regularly make use of the system he condones and by their actions support it. I am just one man, but if my idea is as good as I believe it is, then there will quickly be a lot of people who would like to see it implemented, at which point there will also be many women and men who come up with ways to improve it even more. Manning says democracy needs to be improved, and I agree with him. I hope he would believe this step was a good one too.

Here's one website where they refer to caffeine as a drug:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caffeine
Here's one where one of the most common worries people have about drugs (they can cause death) is made explicitly obvious in caffeine:
http://www.erowid.org/chemicals/caffeine/references/media/1998_missouri_1.shtml
If, after reading about the dangers of this drug, you still decide it's something you'd like to use, here's another way you can get it:
http://www.thinkgeek.com/caffeine/
Here's another drug with about the same level of potential dangers, but for THIS one you can get severely punished even just for having some!!

More facts on this controversial drug whose greatest danger seems to be occasionally making someone repeat a sentence twice because they forgot they already said it a moment ago:

Ralphie eh? PM eh? Hmm,... Well I might prefer to see that over Ken Dryden. Aah, what the heck, just vote for ME, I'll turn the country over to the people instead of letting it be controlled by the elite. That's US, the people.
(whew sorry about that little indulgence in garbage talk. As we all well know, anybody that actually tries to pursue a position of leadership over other people is inherently corrupt, domineering, controlling, and unjust)

Hey Psam, I am a coffee drinker and not a Marajuana smoker. You really rankle me when you put down the coffee drinkers of this world. If you shut down coffee you shut down every industry. It all runs on coffee.

By the way do you drink diet coke? How would you like to have a nice brain tumor?

The FDA set up a Board of Inquiry of the best scientists they had to offer, they said aspartame is not safe and causes brain tumors.

FDA's own toxicologist, Dr. Adrian Gross, told Congress that without a shadow of a doubt aspartame can cause brain tumors and brain cancer,

Aspartame lawsuits have now been filed accusing some of the largest companies in the world of knowingly poisoning the public

Aspartame liberates free methyl alcohol. Charles Fleming was a body builder and played basketball four times a week, and was addicted to aspartame, drinking diet drinks all day, and consuming other products. When he died and they saw the methanol poisoning

DON'T DRINK DIET ANYTHING you guys.

BE TUMOR FREE.

Dadost, I guess that would include police officers, teachers as well as parents.

Further more dadost, you need to update your facts. Scientists have found no link between aspartame consumption and the incidence of cancer or brain tumours. You can read all about it at this web site.

http://www.hc-sc.gc.ca/fn-an/securit/facts-faits/aspartame/aspartame03_e.html

Some people need to know the facts. So Psam feel free to be caffiene free, or whatever!

Hey Spaghet you are really getting me riled up!!! Telling me to CHECK MY FACTS, and then giving me some hokey government of Canada website that says: Oh ya, by the way Aspertame is safe, Yup no connection to any side affects.

So, I checked YOUR FACTS per the Canadian Gov't site you gave me. They said it was safe as per:

1.See 21 CFR 172.804, U.S. Code of Federal Regulations. (Check it out Spaghet;(i.e. do your homework)

Fact is that those numbers refer to "Searle has not met its burdens ….. to demonstrate that aspartame is safe and functional for use in soft drinks"..a warning for aspartame in 21 CFR 172.804….to establish a specific limit on the presence of the ingredient …..because of substantial safety concerns. Hey, Spaghet do you see any warning labels yet?

The second reference to say it is safe is in the European Parliament and Council Directive of 04/35/EC of June 1994. Hey Spaghet,, I really want to see that one, I couldn't find it using either Google or the European Meta Search Engine.

The third reverence to say it is safe is in the Australian Standard A8, which states that Neotame doesn't need special labelling like Aspertame to warn consumers about the presence of contains phenylalanine. I am really scratching my head here Spaghet to remember if I have EVER seen any special labeling warning me that Aspertame contains phenylalanine.

Conclusion: No warning labels - it must be safe.

Oh ya, check it out when Aspertame was having trouble getting FDA approval they hired a top gun lawyer by the name of Donald Rumsfeld to make it happen.

TRUST ME GUYS,,,, ITS SAFE

yor right chanks I do have a problem with authority,,, especially when they tell me-"it's OK."

First off, let's just point out another warning while we're talking about dangerous substances: it's been found that drugs used to treat ADD, ADHD, and other associated disorders can kill people with heart problems, including hardened artery linings. It was in the Province yesterday that a child of eleven died of heart failure upon first administration of these drugs. If you know someone that's thinking of taking ritalin, tell them to check their blood pressure and heart functions first.
Second of all, I'd like to say I wasn't putting down coffee. For the most part it's pretty harmless, with a few dangers and a couple of definite problems resulting from cumulative usage over many years. I was only pointing out that coffee and marijuana are similar in this respect and that marijuana users get treated like criminals even though they're doing something that's no more harmful than drinking coffee. It's unfair to them and I feel bad for people who have their lives taken apart by this poorly handled legal issue.
Thirdly, someone pointed out that my comment about people who pursue positions of leadership is applicable to police officers, teachers, and parents. Yes indeed, it is true, there are large numbers of people in these positions who use it as a way of affirming for themselves their own misguided belief that they are so much more intelligent than anybody else that they should run around forcing other people to do what they say. The difference between corrupt people in positions of power versus constructive ones is in the word "pursue". Those who pursue these positions are usually corrupt and controlling. Those who find these positions thrust upon them and choose to use their position to try their best to help others are not corrupt.
But the person who pointed this out referred to her or him self as anonymous, so I can't thank you for the clarification.

Another fact about this controversial drug is that its greatest danger seems to be occasionally making someone repeat a sentence twice because they forgot they already said it a moment ago.

chankslee, Albrecht Durer was born 501 years before you. Five centuries. 182762 days. Half a millenium. A LOOOONG time. The lifespan of a biiiig tree. So why did he end up in a trivia contest on your blog? Here's a way of finding some facts about slightly more relevant dates to your own life:
