The snake is a Cobra. The red part is blood, and the guys in green are army guys. Thought provoking? I thought it was.
If a person has electricity or a power source they can participate. If a person has time they can be involved. The next ingredient is a computer or a device which allows web browsing. You will also need a connection to the server whether it is by telephone or otherwise. All of the above though is worthless, without the knowledge of reading. I guess we will need to add education, which opens a whole can of worms. The internet is a pretty exclusive place. I would guess that only about one third or less of the world's population is able to access it. There are so many things which are needed in order to plug in.
I ask, is there any value to having the internet? Will those of us who do not have it be left behind? What about the billions who do not have it? Do they deserve a chance to have a voice?
Okay, let's go a little further.
Are you aware that the world, the internet world that is, had it's first nuclear attack this week? They have also had its first millionaire, paid in Linden dollars and various corporations are leaping into it. The place is called Second Life. It is one of a number, but I think the most predominant of the online worlds. I will only introduce it here, and won't take it further. If you are curious, google second life. I bet you will have the some of same thoughts I had.
THIS world begs a few questions too. Do you have any answers?

Aw chanks, ya didn't even include a snippet of inquiry from the conversation we had. I wanted to know people's answers. Hey everybody, while responding to this blog entry, just indulge me please and answer the following question. I really want to know what people think of this. Here it is:
If your country decides to implement draft legislation, taking away your children's freedom to decide whether or not they want to arm themselves and fight against "bad guys" and probably end up getting killed themselves, would you fight against your nation to protect your children?
Now as far as second life goes, WOW! There are so many ramifications, both good and bad, that I can't even sort my thoughts out. It seems to me it's kind of like life in the spirit world, where spirits are looking for a life here in our physical realm to move through as their next journey. They observe the physical world and look around at the possible different roller coaster rides and then plunge in and go through a life, getting back to the spirit world at the end of it a little dizzy and pretty excited. That's kind of what we're doing when we plunge ourselves into that cyber-realm.
Well Chanks, I don't understand this second life and I have enough trouble with the first life so I is gonna stay outta this one.
Psam, I would do anything to protect my kids!!!
AV
URG BLAH
Oh BTW, what is with the picture? That is absolutely disgusting! I don't understand the point of the pic, unless it goes with PTSD. I would imagine all those army boys must have it. YUCK!
AV
AV,
what the heckk is BTW or PTSD or whatever you put?
Psam you are a bit out there...AGAIN. Second life is like a video game, where you are the main character. You get to build yourself, and network, kind of like facebook or msn messenger, or gmail...but to a massive extreme. Instead of emoticons, you could, i guess, give another person a kiss and a hug, when you greet them....talk... whatever but... like av said... i also enjoy my first life a whole heck of a lot....
some guy
Why exactly am I out there?
I realize that believing in spirits and afterlife and all that stuff comes off a little ridiculous, but let's just assume for a second that your real life body is just a vehicle that your essential spirit hitches onto like a roller coaster and rides along. Then when your real life body dies, your spirit goes back to existing purely in the spiritual medium. I don't think there's anything more "out there" about that description than there is about the one with the snake, the apple, two naked people who cover themselves up with a leaf because they ate a wormy apple, some guy making an entire universe in seven days, and then a floating zoo that dilutes the gene pool to the point where the future of life is made quite uncertain, oh yeah not to mention a building that goes up high enough for people to jump off and stay in orbit.
Anyways, the idea of spirits hitching a ride on our bodies to live through a lifetime in a finite existence for a fun time is quite comparable to us finding our way into cyber-space for a virtual existence that isn't "real", and there are no consequences, but still the excitement.
BTW = by the way
PTSD = Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
AV
Did Psamie say "some guy created the entire universe in 7 days"
Well, "some guy" told me a couple of Blogs ago I had the second best comment. Is this the same "some guy" who made the universe? Am I confused or is Psamie confused?
BTW how about this comment"
If you speak to God it is called praying, but if God speaks to you you are called schitzophrenic.
I have another one for you BTW.
GAL means Get a Life.
and
TUOL is Throw Up Out Loud which is what I did when I saw the latest picture.
Looks like the poor soldier lost a bet with his Sargeant.
I hate to think what I would do if one of my children or grandchildren got drafted.
Probably won't happen in Canada. They have problems equipping the soldiers they have already.
well ok.
if you want to compare a video game with spirituality...FINE. whatever.
btw, do you know what ptsd is when in relation to a nuclear attack on a virtual world?
After changing a colostomy bag is it possible to have pts?
Is it possible to have pts after having an encounter with the toilet?
I LOVE YOU PEOPLE!!!!!
Thanks for the laugh. You made my day.
STOP COMPARING ME TO A COLOSTOMY BAG!!!!!!
dost, I appreciate what you said about them not drafting people in Canada. The point I am making by asking the question is a little more subtle.
I believe that a country like Korea today, or Germany in the years before the second world war, can be fought against in a far more effective manner in advance if we use the same tactics on them that we are using on ourselves by perpetuating propaganda against our own government's ploy for military power.
If our government is capable of using propaganda, advertising, and patriotism here to try and convince the poor people of our nation to earn a living by killing people elsewhere in the world, then I'm sure our government is also capable of producing propaganda and infiltrating the media in a nation like Korea to perpetuate the very simple message that they are being victimized by their government. They need to be taught that joining the military is a way that they are victimized by their own government, to deter them from the brainwashed notion that there is somehow something gloriously patriotic about it. Otherwise, if our nation is full of people who understand the horrors of military buildup but theirs isn't, it will weaken us against them. But if we fight propaganda with propaganda, by issuing the same tactics there as we do here, it will weaken their military, which is just as much of a good thing for the world as weakening ours.
This task requires interpreters, brave media members disguised as tourists, constant communications with contacts over there, and some savvy people in the embassy. Rather than try to negotiate with their government (since government is at least partially inherently corrupt in every nation in the world), teach their people about the treacherous oppression of their government.
If the state of affairs between two nations degnerates to the point where a war occurs, it is a sign that both governments have been miserable failures. It is also a sign that both those governments are power-hungry. It is a sign that both governments were too stupid to use their foresight to see it coming and take the steps necessary to prevent it. Worst of all, it is a very sure sign that there are people in BOTH governments who realize how much power they gain by having their nation plunged into war, and are quite happy to have gained that power.
A quote from Psam "Both Governments have been miserable failures"
I heartily agree with you. Governments serve themselves and not the people. The propaganda machine insures that the people are dummied down so that they don't have all the facts. That way they can "Trust" their elected government to make the right choices, like going to war in some far distant place. And, then throw in the patriotic trump card and say " You are either with us or with the terrorists"
The demolition of the World Trade Center and Building 7 were just that - CONTROLLED DEMOLITIONS. The only people I can possibly see doing it like it was done are the military. They could do it and also keep it secret.
Talk about PTSD or whatever it is. What about the announcement that the air is safe to breath so that "Wall Street could be put back in Business" They are just now finding out that the propaganda side of the shining example of democracy (U.S.A.) were wrong and there are going to be more people killed from breathing the air after the project than were killed in the project.
The project being to cause a disaster that gave Bush a blank cheque to go to war.
don't get me going Psam
I still don't trust our own governments let alone want to try to sort out the Koreans or whatever. We got enough to worry about right here at home.
Less Government and more power to the people.
Ya, I agree! If the people had more power the government wouldn't have been able to give themselves a 29% raise. And there pension package would have been cut majorly!!
AV
Problem is I know nutting.
what is all this mistrust of the governments? i am happy with my gov't why aren't you.
john in brizzy.
John in Brizzy,
Because they're a bunch of money hungry, selfish, egotistical, condescending jerks. Does that help answer your question?
Disgruntled.
john in brizzy,
There is, as dost pointed out earlier, evidence that suggests that there were people involved in the American government who were instrumental in causing, or at the very least allowing, the September eleventh attacks to happen. There is also evidence, and maybe a little more, that Osama bin Laden caused the September eleventh attacks to happen. Of course, we live in a culture dominated by the American propaganda media machine, so it's pretty easy to see that if it were indeed forces in American culture that caused the attacks, they'd be quite effective at limiting our abilities to see it.
I live in Canada, and the Canadian government has begun taking military actions that align themselves with the American "war on terror" (or is that terrorist war) and I know people who believe Canada's next action is going to be joining forces with the USA for a fullscale war on Iran. I also know people who believe that the state of the Canadian government will degenerate to the point over the next ten years that they will perpetrate the ultimate act of terrorism against their own citizens: drafting them into the army. That path has already begun. They will be telling us we are killing bad guys in noble service of our proud country, and having our own lives endangered bravely and heroically, when in fact all we will be doing is killing people and being killed. For the economic interests of our government and those wealthy people that control it.
If your government institutes military conscription, they are waging war against your children. Is that what you want? Your government taking away your children's freedom and sending them to distant, violent deaths?
Now admittedly, there are a lot of good people in the government that serves Canada, and as you have noted there are obviously a lot of good people in the government of your native Australia too. However, if too many people in a nation develop too complete and naive a trust in their government, then the government starts manipulating them, and the results are disastrous. There are forces at work in every government that are hungry for power, whether all the members are aware of it or not.
With all of this said, there is another reason why Canada would never legislate draft. This is because if the Canadian government were to do this, then after they finished cleaning up the mess of charred, smoldering wreckage that used to be parliament, they'd find that anyone that tried to go out and enforce this injust law forcing people to sign up for the military would be getting shot.
These are scary thoughts. They are not indicative of many finer qualities of the human race. But then, if you compare the human race to a lot of other life forms on our planet, we are not the one that exemplifies the finest qualities. I believe that it is possible to avoid all of this by forcing our governments to plan ahead and take peaceful, pre-emptive action to prevent wars, rather than letting them wait in the weeds while they see a war coming and then telling their citizens "Oh look, it's time to start fighting. Pick up a gun everybody. Your moment of glory is here." But Canada's in Afghanistan, and the only saving grace is that we're not causing nearly the devastation, chaos, and loss of human life that the allied forces in Iraq are. However, that might just be because we don't have nearly as strong a military. I would pray that that does not change.
Money Hungry Egotistical..Jerks..
Really Psamie Brissie asked a valid question, and you responded with a bunch of name calling...
My take on it with regards to mistrust of the government is this. There are too many "Secrets".
When people ask a question they are told..." It's classified information" or "can't tell you because of national secrurity" etc. etc. It just smacks of being not accountable to the people they are suposed to be serving.
Like where is the tax money all going? Are we getting value for our tax dollars. Well, we all know there is so much abuse of the tax money that it is too much to document. Just ask the ombudsman. If there still is one.
Don't think it can't happen in OZ? Just go up to Pine Gap and ask what is going on up there in Northern Australia. See what kind of response you get.
When the Government of all the democratic countries start giving us the honest truth and not a bunch of lies, then maybe we will start to "trust" them.
How about this. When there is an "Open House" at Area 51 and there is a total accounting of where all the GST Money is going, or when Petro Canada will start selling Gas at cost to the public, then maybe the government will get more respect from the lowly voter.
dost
Evidence? Or was it hear say? I dispute there is evidence on the 911 attacks being done by the US. Evidence used in a court of law?
No Way.
Caboolture
Fact is that 3 airplanes hit three buildings, and 4 buildings were destroyed. Do the math, something doesn't add up.
Fact is that the WTC's and the Building 7 were classic demolitions.
Seeing is believing.
Do you suppose that anyone would be allowed to sift through the wreckage to find evidence of explosives in the WTC's and Building 7?
Are the bad guys, CIA gone bad, Military gone bad, demolition crew gone bad or bad Arabs? Whoever they are, they smack of being organized, disciplined, motivated and secretive and they probably live in the U.S.A.
dost
We keep coming back to that fateful day. What is the story- is there a story- who knows the story??? Chanks you gotta do another post on Sept 11.
HEY! Thanks to all of you for your posts. I am greatful. Okay fine, we will do another conspiracy one. But not next.....
I am working on a couple of projects right now. Number one is on completing my list. It will take a bit of time and yes I will show you my list. I am really enjoying the research.
Number two. Tonights blog. I can't complete it. DAMMIT. I have restarted it a couple of times and tonite is just a nite where it hasn't been working for me. In fact the drivel of the pen which has scarred the paper is simply awful.....I love the subjekt but am having a hard time presenting it. I don't want a typical knee jerk reaction from psam and found myself trying to present it in a light where he would actually THINK for a second or five before letting the brilliant light of his urine grace these pages. I have now rejected that idea, and plan to just tell it like I see it.... but alas the time.. has.. run..OUT.
Sorry.
I won't pretend that this comment is a post, so I will just post it HERE and hope you don't run off and leave me yelling at these waves while they take me into their embrace......you my friends are my life preserver.
click click click click click click click click click click... goes the uh... yeah... oh yeah the camera shutter. (was that an inside choke?)
ciao,
chank-a-rama
oh and did any of you actually check out second life?
I went to the Second life site but it all seemed too confusing to me and i didn't want to download anything more on this on thing.
AV
dost,
You claimed I perpetrated a bunch of name calling, so I read back through my comment, and didn't find a single name I called anybody. I don't know where you got that from, but nonetheless, I am impressed by everything you wrote after that.
chankslee,
If I didn't think for at least a half hour before printing a response on here to your blog entries, then I wouldn't be able to come up with three pages of concise, logical argument to add my thoughts to what you have written.
Also chankslee,
I think everybody went to the second life website as AV did, but it was hard to find a synopsis about what it is all about. Furthermore, everybody knows that one of the reasons for societal decay in present day is that everybody's spending all their time in front of TVs or computers, not getting outside and getting any exercise, and not being face-to-face-social in situations where they are meeting other people. Therefore, nobody wants to actually go in and start creating a character to participate in second life because they want to do the responsible thing and make their own lives richer instead of creating a cyber-life to put all their energy into and neglect their own even more.
caboolture,
Of COURSE the evidence that American intelligence was involved in causing the WTC attacks wouldn't hold up in a court of law!! The USA CREATED their "court of law"! Why would you try to protect suspected murderers from suspicion?! Are you happy that they succeeded or something? Do you think they did the right thing or something?
Psam, some of the things you say to caboolture are abit over the top don't you think?
It is one thing to suspect someone of murder but supicion without proof doesn't give you the right to hang him. Caboolture is asking where your proof is. I would like to know as well. You give the united states far too much credit in my opinion. I have never felt them capable of pulling off an operation like sept. 11 and keeping it quiet. Someone would have come forward by now. There are enough people like you who hate Bush that would have proof.
I have a question regarding propaganda, if a government controls the radio and tv channels how are you to reach the people. In ww11 they used leaflets from airplanes. I think this is still the way they use to reach people but how effective is that? Hitlers own people tried to take him out but failed. it's not that easy. Saddam and osama were men trained to control things but these men got out of control and here we are at war. Saddam and Osama would be a form of propaganda. Diplomacy doesn't always work. Some times it can be turned against you. Just ask Italy about that Psam.
bench
wooooooooooooooooooooo
good one bench
another enemy of italy in diplomacy 2007
bench,
If you haven't seen any proof, you've been blinded by your own desire to believe in the goodness of the people on "your side". And there's no point in me trying to re-iterate any of it to you. You need to spoon feed yourself some bran to clean out all the bullshit they've been spoonfeeding you.
