Butter Lamp?
I had a slightly embarrassing problem happen to me today. Now when I see a pregnant woman, I cannot help but feel a bit of admiration. I did look twice though when I saw her light up a ciggy. So what do you reckon? Do you say something? It is terrible for the health of a baby. Babies are more susceptible to many ailments due to a smoking mother. How do you approach her? Do you just think, "its none of my business?" Well most people would, I think say nothing. And really that is what I should have done. But. I didn't. I mean normally I wouldn't but this time I did. I got angry and really gave it to her. Turns out she wasn't pregnant. gulp.
The World Cup is near. Have you had any thoughts as to who you are going to support, or will you listen to me and jump on the Aussie bandwagon? We drew 1-1 with the Netherlands which is a good sign.
Another good thing happened the other day. One in which a hero of mine was elevated by being a recipient of an award by the respected Dalai Lama. Tintin received the Tibetan butter lamp and was mentioned in the same breath as the Rev. Desmond Tutu. Now what the heck is a butter lamp? Yeah I didn't know either. (pictured) The light within it symbolizes the wisdom of the awakened mind. Do you really think that Calculus is the smartest? Do you reckon Psam has an enlightened mind? That "shooting" comment from the utopian socialist was a bit rare.
Did you know that in 1981, Israel bombed and disabled the nuclear facility being built by American ally, Saddam Hussein. Ten years later that plant was completely destroyed by the US during the first Gulf War. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/4774733.stm It would be a logistical nightmare for the Jews to bomb any reactor within Iran, which means my earlier assertion that it would take place is not such an easy task. I took a quick look at the country. Elat, in the south which is on the Gulf of Aqaba, which joins the Red Sea and then the Indian Ocean. I never knew they had territory so far south. Elat is a sister city to......? and also to ....?
Oh and by the way, I didn't really see a prego lady with a ciggy.

If by sister city you mean one close by, then it seems to me Aqabah is the nearest neighbour, and I can't find any others. I would very much like to see this city in higher resolution. It seems Elat is rougly the same size as the city of New Westminster. And I can't figure out what the shoreline just east of it is all about. Sure looks like a friggin' dam to me, but the elevations don't add up. How ARE they getting their power?
As far as your embarrassing problem goes, I give you a hearty LOL and a LMAO and a ROFL. On a serious note about that, if you see a smoker and decide you want to tell them to quit, you're only going to make them more likely to want to smoke. HOWEVER, if you get to know the smoker as a friend with respect for the good qualities they have, and THEN tell them that seeing them smoke upsets you because you don't like to see the harm they're doing to their own body, then you likely are doing them a world of good helping them realize what a destructive thing they're doing to themselves. If you have such a friend, say it often and say it frequent: "I don't like to see you smoke. I think it's really harmful to you." but make sure you only make it 5% of your interaction with them or it won't do any good.
As far as the butter lamp goes, I will just hasten to point out that calculus requires no more or less intelligence than any other intellectual pursuit, and I have no more of an enlightened mind than any of my friends. I already apologized for the shooting comment. Oh yeah and that butter cup looks like it would be wonderful to sit and gaze at for a while. Very enticing. Sparkly. Shiny. Purdy.

psam, you may know calculus, but you don't know WHO calculus is. What time is it?

Me
I've enjoyed reading everyone's comments over the last several months. Psam, Don't feel bad about everyones criticisms towards you. What would this blog be without you!? You keep the ball rolling. I have to say though, that you have provoked me to comment also!!
Do I have faith in this world? NO. Do I at least have HOPE for a world with no killing. Well, call me negative, or whatever you want, but I just simply don't see that ever happening. There is not much about human nature that is very pretty. My own human nature included.
So I put my faith in something higher than this world, and mankind. That brings us to the argument of religion causing all the problems. Pure religion is to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world. So, perhaps it is mankind, and his FALSE RELIGION that is causing all the problems... which is why i have no faith in mankind.
I realize that you can not debate "religious" issues. There is rarely ever consensus;no one ever "wins". And so, I hope that I have not offended you as I put forth my viewpoints. I do respect yours, and appreciate reading all the posts on here.
Nica!
I heard that all our previous champion race horses have met their match. Apparently Toyla Tuma has surpassed them all in thrusting over the finish line, and now everybody who placed any bets wants to see the Hearted horse win the next race, which makes them Fans of Hearts.
Nica, thank you for giving me something to read that made me smile. Your views are so humbly suggested that it's hard to see the power of what they have to give people. If you believe in a higher power, do you believe that this power has benevolent wishes to all living things on Earth? Do you believe that all people by looking to a higher power can improve their ablilities to contribute to the happiness of all other living things?
I did some research on Calculus and found out that he's seriously in need of a ladyfriend that can get his mind off of things.
chankslee, your website, as always, keeps the mind sharp. Very valuable to my attempts at becoming well-educated.
